The R.H. Johnson, Beardsley Park, Palm Ridge and Kuentz Recreation Centers are directed and managed by the Recreation Centers of Sun City West, Inc. The functions of the Recreation Center are quite diverse, but, in general, the purpose is to maintain a social, cultural, recreational and amusement program for the benefit of the residents of Sun City West. A multitude of recreational activities are available. They include: swimming and therapy pools, shuffleboard courts, lawn bowling, bowling lanes with automatic pinsetters and scorers, billiard and snooker tables, miniature golf courses, tennis, table tennis, handball, racquetball, softball, art room, bridge, canasta, ceramics, silvercraft, lapidary, ballroom dancing, round dancing, square dancing, rockhounds, bocce courts, woodworking shop, metal club, needlecraft, stained glass, basketry, clay, photography, china painting, a library and many others.
