Youngtown, Sun City West, Peoria, El Mirage and Surprise. These services include free
transportation in vans equipped with wheelchair lifts, disaster courses and financial
assistance to local disaster victims.

The American Cancer Society's patient-visitor program offers short-term support to
those with cancer and their families. Co-sponsored by the Sun Living Health Community
Cancer Program. Specially trained volunteers provide support and resource information.
These volunteers have either experienced cancer personally or through a family member or
close friend and are uniquely capable of understanding the concerns, frustrations and
fears of cancer.
Anyone can make a referral to the CanSurmount Program by calling the above number or the
American Cancer Society at 972-0788.

The Sun Cities Area Community Council offers the following social services.
HAPPY NOONERS's neighborhood nutrition program designed to bring local persons out for a
meal and companionship.
WAKE UP/TUCK is a personal care service in the home for people needing assistance for an
hour in the morning and/or evening.
SENIOR HOUSING COUNSELING-Advises seniors needing any assistance in resources for housing
and financial needs.

The Olive Branch Senior Center provides a variety of programs and services designed to
help northwest Valley seniors enrich their lives through stimulating socialization,
recreation and companionship opportunities.
The senior center also meets vital needs for hot, nutritious meals, plus supplemental food
programs or health screenings, the latter of which are conducted by the Sun Living Health
Staying Well Center.
A lunch donation of $2.25 is gratefully accepted. For lunch reservations, call 974-6797 at
least 24 hours in advance. The senior center is managed by Sun Living Health, and funded
in part by the Area Agency on Aging, Region I, Inc.; the Sun City Community Fund and by
community donations.

Qualified social workers offer counseling and coordinate available resources for patients at Walter O. Boswell and Del E. Webb Memorial hospitals, Sun Living Health Care Center, and patients in Sun Living Health Homecare Services and Sun Living Health Hospice. Hours: Mon.-Fri. 8 A.M.-4:30 PM.

Our volunteer organization delivers both hot and cold meals prepared by the kitchen of the Boswell Hospital to those in Sun City and Youngtown who are unable to prepare their own. Charges are set by the hospital, however, financial subsidization is available for those who demonstrate a need for the service. Meals are available seven days a week.

Help for those who are unable to prepare their own meals. We visit your home to determine dietary needs. The hot and cold meals are prepared by Del E. Webb Memorial Hospital and delivered to your home around noon by volunteers Monday thru Saturday. Contributions are welcome.

dignified funeral arrangements at reasonable prices. Affiliated with 147 other memorial
societies throughout the U.S. & Canada.
It has a one-time, lifetime membership fee of $30. Free information brochure available by

A "Mutual Help" program through which widowed persons who have adjusted to widowhood, help newly widowed persons of all ages. These volunteers bring hope and understanding. The services include outreach on a one-to-one basis, telephone service, group sessions, referral service and public education.
