A non-profit, non-government corporation supported by the business community. The Bureau offers consumer protection-
Provides consumer reports on approximately 42,000 companies.
Processes consumer complaints and resolves about 75% satisfactorily. Complaint forms are available at Home Owners office at 10401 W. Coggins Drive, Sun City or can be mailed directly to the Better Business Bureau.
Offers binding arbitration when complaints are not resolved through normal procedures.
Reviews advertising and alerts companies which appear to be using misleading, false, or deceptive advertising methods.
Maintains current reports on local and national soliciting organizations. Reports are available by telephone without charge.

COMMUNITY LEGAL SERVICES

Provides legal representation for persons who are income-eligible (under Federal poverty guidelines) in civil legal matters at no fee. Main priorities are meeting survival needs--public assistance, housing and health. The attorneys also help in custody matters, especially abuse cases in which the other party is represented, workshops for divorce cases representing themselves are also offered.

The Maricopa County Attorney is responsible for the prosecution of all felony crimes which occur in the county and prosecution of all misdemeanors which occur in the unincorporated areas. The office also prosecutes all juvenile offenders and handles adoptions. The office serves as the Legal Advisor to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and all County Departments and it acts as the Attorney for all public districts in Maricopa County.

Police protection is provided by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Posse consisting of approximately 190 dedicated men and women have the primary function of crime prevention. Provides neighborhood patrols, vacation watch, operation notification, operation identification, funeral watch, and home security survey programs.
Donations support the Posse operations.

The Maricopa County Sheriff provides police protection for Sun City West. The Posse acts as the "eyes and ears" of the Sheriff and performs regular patrols, Vacation Watch Program, home security checks and various protection functions.
We respond to medical alert and emergency situations, traffic control, search and rescue, crime scene protection and other assignments.
Donations are the sole source of funding for the Posse.
