A non-profit, all volunteer, tax-exempt organization working to rescue and care for
homeless dogs and cats in the Sun Cities and surrounding communities. We take in lost or
abandoned animals, strays living in the streets and animals whose owners have died or must
enter nursing homes. Our only source of income is from donations and memberships.
Membership is $15.00 per single, $25.00 per family, and $250.00 for lifetime membership.

The Northwest Valley Chamber of Commerce serves the communities of Sun City, Sun City
West, Youngtown, Surprise and El Mirage. The Chamber exists to promote the Northwest
Valley to visitors and potential new residents, and to assist the growth of business and
Commerce in the area. A wide variety of maps of the Northwest Valley, the state and
county, and the recreation sites are updated constantly. Community and real estate guides
are on hand to help acquaint you with the area, and the Chamber also provides a referral
service of member programs and locations.

A group of organizations and individuals who study, plan and recommend action on
social, health and related issues which affect the well-being of the residents of Sun
City, Sun City West, and Youngtown areas. The Council informs the community, helps to
coordinate services and stimulates citizen involvement to develop needed services. They
provide a link with State agencies, Maricopa Association of Governments and with the Area
Agency on Aging regarding human service issues.
The Council is responsible for the following programs:
HAPPY NOONERS-A neighborhood nutrition program designed to bring local persons out for a
meal and companionship.
WAKE-UP/TUCK IN-A personal care service in the home for people needing assistance for an
hour in the morning and/or evening.
ALMOST ANTIQUE RESALE-A thrift store offering clothing, household items, furniture, and
other collectibles.
GUARDIAN REVIEW-A community partnership with the Superior Courts to help monitor Sun
Cities area residents who have become wards of the court.
VISUALLY IMPAIRED PROGRAM-A program for the visually impaired persons providing education
and recreation activities.
NORTHWEST LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE ON AGING- Comprised of organizations and individuals who
study legislation before the Arizona Legislature which affects area residents.

The Fund is an all volunteer organization providing financial and human service aid to
needy Sun City residents, as well as financial grants to non-profit health and welfare
organizations serving the Sun City community. Immediate help may be given to needy
residents in the form of grants or through referral to appropriate local agencies. Funding
is obtained from an annual community-wide solicitation by mail beginning each September.

A non-profit animal welfare organization, supported solely by donations, memberships
and bequests. The mission of the Arizona Human Society is to create a humane community by
sheltering animals in need, securing quality homes for animals, abolishing overpopulation,
promoting responsible pet ownership through education and ultimately eliminating the
needless suffering of animals. The Arizona Humane Society is an open door shelter and
never turns away, or charges to take, an animal in need. Membership is $15 for an
individual, $30 for family, $50 for contributing and $100 for supporting membership.

A non-profit corporation financed by the Community Fund of Sun City. Free and confidential telephone service is provided by trained volunteers from the Sun Cities. Many of the volunteers are retirees from professional careers. They provide information and help to solve problems in many areas: consumer information; education; employment; finance; health; home care; nursing services; housing; household maintenance; legal services; recreation; transportation; needs of the handicapped; and others. The service helps everyone regardless of financial status, to adjust to physical and emotional changes. It helps with problems arising for those who may need medical or therapeutic assistance, adult "sitters", etc.

NOW is the largest women's rights organization. Members are actively involved in every
issue relating to full equality for women in our society including the Equal Rights
Amendment, economic and reproductive rights, Lesbian/Gay Rights, older women's rights,

development.

With its 350 plus members, the Prides can be readily recognized by their orange safety jackets bearing the bright logo. A patriotic, historical and educational society. Specifically, it supports the Boy

The Club was formed in response to retired trade unionists' requests to work together
on programs and issues of interest to themselves and the community. Of particular concern
are attempts to reduce Social Security benefits and the taxation of pension and medical
benefits. A leader in the successful campaign to eliminate the state tax on food, the club
