WHAT CAN PORA DO FOR YOU?

Consumer Services. Over 1,100 vendors, in 250 categories, have registered with PORA to do business in SCW. Just call our telephone hotline 214-1646 to get names of landscapers, businesses, repair people, etc. The ability to lodge a complaint through PORA regarding these listed vendors has been a very effective tool to help assure business integrity.

Large Town Hall Meetings. PORA schedules regular meetings with community leaders as well as with elected county, state and federal officials; complete with a structured Q & A period.

Field trips. Trips by chartered bus to our Legislature, Luke Air Force Base, Lake Pleasant, etc. are available at PORA to help keep residents informed about institutions that have an impact on us.

Master Gardeners. A helpful group of volunteers, certified as "Master Gardeners" are available at PORA to assist you in choosing plants acclimated to Arizona, disease control, landscaping, etc.

Deed Restrictions. PORA helps resolve and adjudicate deed restrictions and violations.

Distributionss. PORA provides the Annual Sun Cities Cross-Index Telephone Directory, the RoadRunner Membership Newsletter, the PORA Handbook, and many other useful pieces of literature to members.

Central Clearing House. PORA is a vehicle which provides a forum for residents to present concerns about our community.

PORA was started in 1979 as a volunteer group to serve the Sun City West community. The annual dues are kept low; $12.00 for a household or $6.00 for an individual membership. It is important that every resident of Sun City West (both partial year and year round) belong to PORA. This ensures a complete citizenry base and gives PORA greater influence when dealing with Utility Companies, State and County Governments, neighboring communities, taxing authorities, etc. Your membership is vital.
